Recruitment of a sociologist to analyze the causes of violence against children taking into account the specificities regional social standards.
Expected results of the qualitative study: Local sociological analysis: Study of the local sociological context in relation to the use of violence as educational method.
Factors of violence: Analysis of the factors underlying the use of violence against children within the family.
Recommendations: Development of recommendations to guide mass communication interventions and
of proximity aimed at promoting positive educational discipline. A document detailing these recommendations and their variations in activities will be provided.
Behavioral assessment: Contribution to the development of a reference and monitoring base for targeted social behaviors, with assessment of post-intervention change trends.
These results will contribute to creating a safer and more caring environment for children in Tunisia, particularly in the priority regions of Kairouan, Kasserine, Sidi Bouzid, Jendouba, Siliana, Médenine, and Tunis.
How can you make a difference?
The planned interventions are:
Organize scoping meetings with the sponsors of the mission.
Carry out a review of existing literature (studies, theses, academic research, reports) and meet national professionals and experts.
Present the methodology and analysis tools.
Analyze social norms relating to violence against children, including attitudes, beliefs and
community perceptions, through interviews and focus groups with representatives of communities, professionals, and stakeholders, including parents, children and adolescents in
7 governorates targeted.
Participate in community activities to observe and understand social and cultural interactions who generate and accept violence, and identify social norms and barriers to prevention.
A final report will be developed, including strategic recommendations for a plan of communication aimed at preventing and combating violence in the family. This report will provide also a baseline for assessing the situation before and after the implementation of the plan SBC. A scientific article to be submitted to an academic journal will also be developed.
These interventions will help create a safer and more caring environment for children in Tunisia,
particularly in priority regions (Kairouan, Kasserine, Sidi Bouzid, Jendouba, Siliana, Médenine, Tunis).
To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…
A master’s level diploma in social sciences or humanities or equivalent eQExo5I BWj1dp
Have at least 5 years of experience in carrying out qualitative studies in the social field.
Proven experience in the design and facilitation of reflection/mobilization/data collection workshops. Have a good knowledge of the social context and issues related to the field of child protection, particularly violence against children
Consultation experience or similar work would be an asset
Speak and write Arabic and French fluently
Terms and conditions:
A) Technical Evaluation (maximum 75 Points)
– A master’s degree in social sciences or human sciences or equivalent 20 pts
– Have at least 5 years of experience in carrying out qualitative studies in the social field 20 pts
– Experience working in a team or jointly or with other experts on similar projects 10 pts
– Understanding of the objectives and specificities mentioned in the terms of reference and adequacy of the methodological note to the terms of reference 20 pts
– Speak and write Arabic and French fluently 5 pts the technical offer is valid only if it is at least 45.
B) Financial Proposal (maximum of 25 Points)
The financial offer must also include the travel and communication costs of the expert.
